The multi-service networks are characterized because the cabling and the distribution used make of them versatile networks capable of providing any service (capable of being transmitted by cable) of data, voice and video (even if some correspond to conventional analogue telephony). These networks therefore allow a short-term cost savings in cabling infrastructure as they enable user mobility and the incorporation of services with minimum reconfigurations, in addition to supporting both the new technologies of width of 10-25-40 Gigabit/s band. As the traditional ones, allowing to continue with the use and amortization of systems of communications older but not less reliable and still in perfect use, like can be the analog switchboards, TDM, ISDN and mixed ISDN/IP.
